Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta III [531/16]

ZEISS IKON SUPER IKONTA III
PRODUCT ID: MF.100701

OVERVIEW

In the 1950s, the era of the folding camera was drawing to a close. However, the Super Ikonta didn’t slip quietly into history.

Built on the same platform as the roll-film Nettars and Ikontas, the Super Ikonta III 531/16 was a full-featured camera that lacked only an onboard light meter.

Super Ikonta’s incorporated a rangefinder and high quality lenses. Synchro-Compur shutters were extremely well made and remain accurate after many years of use. The fit and finish of all parts is superb, probably the best folding medium format cameras ever made. Folded, these cameras provide an extremely compact medium format camera.

RICOH DIACORD L TLR CAMERA

RICOH DIACORD L
Product ID: MF091218

OVERVIEW

The Ricohflex “Diamond” Series, renamed “Diacord” outside Japan, was released in the mid 1950′s in an attempt to compete in the Yashica (mat) and Rollei (cord) market. I doubt they were a strong competitor thus less often seen, but the Diacord ain’t no inferior performer.

“I had a Diacord G for quite a while. I have quite a few 11×11 inch matted and framed black and white prints shot with Ricoh Diacord G, Rollei 2.8 E and a Yashica 124. For what its worth the person who makes my prints (which are not cheap) once told me that the Diacord was in her opinion very sharp and contrasty. I think that with good skills applied from start to finish your pictures could be so good that whether you used a Ricoh or a Rollei could be of very minor concern.

The Ricoh also has a unique shutter quite like the Rollei 2.8 C. This shutter has more blades, which if I understand correctly is one reason many people seek the 2.8 C.”

YASHICA MAT 124G
Product ID: MF091203

OVERVIEW

Since the day our little madecineshop opened our doors, we’ve been promoting the Yashica Mat range of TLRs. The reason is simple – we have yet to find a better performer for the same money! The 124G is the last model of the Yashica Mat range, much similar to it’s famed predecessor. This stealthy black monster’s “G” stands for its improved gold-contacts that are less likely to corrode.
